To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee

I listened to the Harper Audio audiobook.

I missed this classic that most people read during school. I think we substituted this with another book and instead watched the movie version with Gregory Peck. I didn’t remember the movie at all before the book, other than knowing about the trial.

What I liked most about the book was the relationship Atticus has with his children. It is one seemingly balanced between quiet authority and respect. Atticus answers his children’s questions with honesty, and treats them like adults, but still commands authority when he needs it. That’s the type of relationship I want to have with my children.
