I listened to the Recorded Books audiobook.

The most interesting parts for me were seeing the contrast between the different societal norms when Mandella was on leave. Due to time dilation, he gets to witness firsthand the cultural evolution of the humanity. It seemed like those were always shocking for him, and returning to combat restored a sense of normalcy.
