Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë

25 Aug 2014

I listened to the Sterling Audio version of the audiobook.

I loved the Heathcliff character, as much as I hated him. I wonder if there are people who find his actions “romantic”–can there ever be romance in destruction? For me, romance is something that creates and binds, not destroys and severs.

I didn’t enjoy the ending, and I felt it didn’t fit with the character of the novel–it might have been trying to teach some lesson about life that I don’t believe is accurate.
